About The Artist
Nicole Scanlon is a freelance artist, graphic designer, and art director based in Rochester, NY. An alumna of State University of New York at Oswego, she earned her BFA in Graphic Design with a minor in Fine Art. Nicole has built a creative career that blends fine art with professional design expertise, bringing together visual storytelling, branding, and artistic expression across a range of creative projects.
My Art
Nicole loves creating with mixed media across canvas, paper, and pottery. Her artwork is rooted in creativity, texture, and expression, and she especially enjoys bringing custom commissioned pieces to life. Seeing a client’s excitement and connection to a finished piece is one of the most rewarding parts of her artistic process.
Graphic Design & Art Direction
With years of professional graphic design and art direction experience, Nicole has led and developed the overall visual style and creative direction for projects, campaigns, and brand initiatives across print, digital, and multimedia platforms. Her work ranges from logo design and branding systems to full-scale marketing campaigns and comprehensive brand guidelines.
Nicole collaborates closely with clients, marketing teams, copywriters, photographers, illustrators, and production partners to bring cohesive visual storytelling to life. She oversees all stages of the creative process — from concept development through final production — ensuring timelines, budgets, brand standards, and quality execution are consistently met.
Her expertise includes approving layouts, photography, typography, and color direction while continuously evolving brand identities with fresh, innovative ideas inspired by current design, advertising, and technology trends.
